The International Relations Council Association (IRCT) held the sixth of the Security Academy series, which has been held regularly since 2008 and has become a tradition, at Ilgaz Mountain Resort Hotel on 21-25 December 2011. 39 people who completed the training program organized with the contributions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, NATO Public Diplomacy Unit, BP Turkey and TUBITAK were entitled to receive certificates. In addition to faculty members, graduate and doctoral students from different universities, representatives of official institutions such as the National Security Council, the Undersecretariat of Defense Industry, the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs participated in the program.
The first of the training program series, organized twice a year in six-month periods, was held at Ankara University Ilgaz Mountain ÖRSEM facilities on 20-24 December 2008, the second was held at the Ürgüp Dinler Hotel on 12-15 June 2009, and the third was held at Ilgaz Mountain on 18-22 December 2009. The fourth Resort Hotel was held on 18-21 June 2010 at Işık University’s Şile campus and the last one was held on 16-20 December 2010 at Ankara University Ilgaz Mountain ÖRSEM facilities. The Security Academy includes presentations, panels, security-themed simulations and film screenings within the framework of visual education method, by experts in the field and representatives of influential institutions in the formation of Turkey’s security policy.
