The global political agenda, shaped by labor-capital and urban-rural dichotomies and class contradictions, affects people’s lives, urban rights, and daily practices. By focusing on the relations of place and society, this lecture aims to deal with the turbulent story of the relationship between politics and urban areas in the historical process. By addressing the struggle in the background of urban space production and consumption with the metaphor of a “game board,” it will show that the place is a solid state of socio-political relations. It will reveal the “invisible hand” of the rule makers and their role in urban space sharing.
