The roles of international organizations in global governance networks in the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic are quite different from what is considered relatively normal. Although the roles and effectiveness of international organizations in the global system are often questioned, international organizations such as NATO, the European Union and the World Health Organization have been trying to prove their presence in the fight against the epidemic since the beginning of the epidemic. For example, NATO, using the solidarity mechanism between countries, sent health support packages to countries that requested assistance through the armies. He focused on the financial dimension of the fight against the epidemic by creating various funds for European Union members and third countries. The World Health Organization tried to provide coordination between these actors by making information calls to states and non-governmental organizations in the management of the pandemic. Different non-governmental organizations interacting at the global level continued activities in addition to government and intergovernmental organizations in the fight against COVID-19. In this context, within the scope of Global Academy Talks titled “Global Governance and International Cooperation”, the roles and effectiveness of international organizations within global governance networks in combating the COVID-19 epidemic will be discussed.
