We are witnessing an interesting period globally and nationally. It is as if, in Dickens’ Tale of Two Cities, “it was the best of times, it was the worst of times; It was the time of wisdom, it was the time of stupidity, it was the age of faith, it was the age of doubt, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair. It is more important than ever to make sense of what has happened in such periods and to make accurate predictions for the future. In these times when it is safe to remain silent, it is advantageous to follow the majority, and it is easy to get lost in general, the main task of the thinking person is to point out the wrongs, to express the possibilities beyond the accepted, to dream of the differences beyond the visible, and most of all, to tell the truth tirelessly. In this framework, we formed the Global Academy with a group of thinking people who set out with the belief that “there is nothing stronger than an idea whose time has come”. Global, because today’s problems are truly global and concern all humanity; Academy, because we are all still learning. Our main goal is to understand the complexity of the age we live in, to seek ways out of its problems, and to convey what we have learned to large masses. While doing these, we set out from fundamental academic values, we have no power other than holding on to the truth and we have no other purpose than, to tell the truth. Our door is open to anyone who wants to learn and contribute.
